The golden age of cooperation and advancement is now a distant memory, and humanity has once again splintered into disparate factions all vying for supremacy. Humanity has colonized thousands of star systems spanning a vast region of space known as the Inner Sphere. That’s on the steam workshop I don’t remember the name.Welcome to the year 3015! It’s a hell of a time to be alive. There’s a mod that enables the ability for your coop partners to do things in the dropship between missions that is a must have IMO. And the DLC adds exactly what you’re looking for (more variety in the sandbox). I see a lot of mixed reviews for them on steam but mods aren’t going to add anything as high quality as the DLC does, so I think most people are just upset by the price tags to content ratio (which is fair). Otherwise, the COOP is restricted to just the missions, which isn’t too bad per-say and it is sort of funny to see their pilots wandering around the dropship unable to do anything before the mission starts lol So your COOP partners can be outfitting, painting, and repairing their mechs in between missions instead of just you. Other missions you’ll just crush the enemy without a second thought, really depends on the difficulty level of the mission.Īs far as COOP goes, the base game COOP is a little lack luster, in that they can’t control anything on board the dropship (between missions) but there’s a mod that unlocks that option on the steam workshop and it’s seamless. Also, some missions can be pretty hard so it feels rewarding to take a win as a squad. That being said, there’s a lot of controls and buttons that won’t be in most FPS games (like unlocking your torso from your guns so you can walk/face one way and point your guns another, target lock, multiple firing keys, and an emergency shutdown button - just to name a few) but they ended up enjoying that too because it adds to the feeling that you’re piloting a mech. If you’ve played other tank or mech games (which you have) I found it really easy to get into.įor my brother and my friend they found it easy because of their FPS experience.
